If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know that during winter my skin gets incredibly dry and dull. Well, thanks to my morning and nighttime skincare routines, I have managed to avoid the usual dryness that I experience. However, the season is about to change. And with spring comes a whole new skin situation. My skin tends to lean dry and rarely gets oily, but I still need to switch up my skincare and makeup routines in order to stay on top of my skin.
For me, this means a lighter daily moisturizer, and lighter makeup products (on days when I wear it). Some of the things I will be using I already have in my collection, but there are some products that I think would be great additions to my collection. I’m calling them “crushes” because they’re all products that I’ve seen other people use and love, and have caught my eye. Here they are!
Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Cleanser ($34): I’ve heard really good things about Glow Recipe as a brand, so I’m definitely keen to try something out. The Watermelon Glow Mask is also really appealing to me, but as far as things I need go, I will be in need of a new cleanser for spring and this one looks great. It’s packed with antioxidants and works as a cleanser-toner hybrid.
Biossance 100% Squalane Oil ($58): Okay, I’ve been hearing a lot about Squalane and how it makes for some radiant, bouncy skin… and I want in. I’ve also heard great things about the brand Biossance, so I am looking to try this out. I would most likely use this at night in conjunction with my Midnight Recovery Concentrate (I would never give up my MRC!!) to see if it really boosts radiance.
Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb ($22-62): I think I mentioned this in a blog post a while back, but I used this for part of winter. I loooooove how this feels on my skin, it’s just not moisturizing enough for my skin in winter. However, I think this will make for a wonderful spring and summer moisturizer as it is oil free and feels light and refreshing on the skin.
Kopari Coconut Body Milk ($30): This may not be face skincare, but body care is important too! I think this will be a lovely body moisturizer for spring and summer as it is a body milk, rather than a heavy body butter like I would use for winter. Plus, if it smells like coconut I am so down.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream with SPF 50 ($15-38): I’m really over foundation you guys. Maybe I will change my mind when it doesn’t literally crack on my skin as soon as I go outside (luv winter), but until then, I’ve been skipping foundation. However, there are days where I really want a little coverage. I have heard great things about the IT CC Cream, so I think it’s time to try it out. I originally wanted to try the Erborian CC Creme, but it only comes in two (LIGHT) shades, so I will not be supporting the product. This IT one comes in the light shades that I need, but also offers a few darker shades!!
RMS Uncover Concealer ($36): This is another product that I’ve heard rave reviews about. It’s supposed to be a concealer foundation hybrid that allows you to customize your coverage… Which sounds perfect for me! Some days I just need to cover my undereye circles, but other days I do need a little more concealer on parts of my face that get red. The shade range on these is a bit limited, but they do offer darker shades. Very into this product.
Fenty Beauty Eyebrow Collection: This is a range I am ready for. I’m not sure it’s actually been confirmed, but Rihanna did mention brow products back in December. Her brows are always amazing (feathery but structured– a look I love), so I am definitely looking forward to this. If this is just a myth though, Glossier Boy Brow will be the go-to.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush ($24-38): This is a product that is not new to me, and is a year-round favorite. The difference in this is the color. In winter, I tend to gravitate towards the shade “Mood Exposure” (a very dusky pink color), whereas in spring and summer I prefer blushes with more peachy tones. The shades I’m looking at are “Ethereal Glow” and “Incandescent Electra.”
